Similar question. My parents fly to Honduras on Delta a lot. Since it is international, they get the first bag for free. They were considering getting the AmEx card that gets your first bag free. Is this the first paid bag or the first bag period (in other words, no help)? I have called Amex twice, and been given two different answers.

I am thinking of pushing them to do the Amex Reserve since it would allow both of them to make medallion status with the travel and the bonus MQMs. If they do that they would get 2 free at 50 lbs international?
