I prefer a laptop sleeve when I travel. You don't need to remove the laptop from the sleeve (assuming you get one that is tsa friendly) and when you get to where you are going, you can just use the sleeve for the laptop if that's all you need instead of carrying the laptop bag all the time.
You will still need to unzip the bag, open it and lay it flat on the belt or in the bin. To me it's just as easy to pull a sleeve from a regular bag.
If you go with the travelpro you should have no issues. You may occasionally run into a rogue TSA agent who cares nothing about TSA friendly bags and will insist everything be removed from the bag, but that's not a function of the bag, they will make anybody take it out. It's good that over the years there are less and less of those agents at the checkpoints.
