I downloaded the update just fine and have only had one major problem so far (which could also have been an error with the old app as far as I know):
I had a former Summerfield Suites, now Hyatt House, saved on my list of favorites. It still appeared in my favorites with the old Summerfield Suites name, but when I clicked on details and then tried to book a reservation, I got an "Unexpected system error occurred" that crashed the app. And the app remained crashed and unusable until I completely restarted my iphone.
So if you have any former Summerfield Suites in your favorites, you may want to delete them out and manually add the new Hyatt House favorite back in, or bad things may happen to your app!
Other than that, I haven't noticed anything different from the last app since I've already stayed at all the complex reservations that were having problems with the last app, so I haven't been able to test any of those bug fixes yet.
Looks like the max number of favorites is still unfortunately 6. One possible future feature to consider that would be equally useful to increasing this cap on favorites would be to have a list of all the previous properties the user has stayed at (not capped). If this existed, I wouldn't have to save any favorites at all - I could just go to a list of my past properties I've stayed at.
One other nice future feature to consider for the future - under "contact" it would be nice if the phone number listed was automatically the Diamond line for Diamond members.

I spoke with the dev team and they were not aware of a problem with old Summerfield Suites favorites causing issues. They'll try to look into it but it may be difficult since one can no longer had a HSS as a favorite. Your recommendation of deleting the old ones is the pragmatic approach. They did tell me they don't believe it had anything to do with the new app and would have also happened with version 1.0.
Regarding favorites, there are two things we're looking at doing: 1) Syncing them with the preferred hotels stored in your profile (a little used feature) 2) Allowing more than 6. The issue with allowing more is that the app goes and gets the basic info, weather and time for all favorite hotels - more than 6 really slows things down. We plan to make it progressive.
Your idea regarding the Diamond phone # for Diamond members is a good one and I'll pass it along.
