I doubt it was a conscious decision; rather, the staff probably just grabbed some 'claret'. Often when this happens, if you ask for something, they'll grab it for you - both in the CCR and Flounge.
I agree that it probably wasn't a conscious decision and I agree that you can just ask for what you want. But on the other hand, who is running this zoo? At the GF food area, I often see managers fussing over the display of food, sometimes removing a plate that doesn't look appetizing. Why don't they put in the same effort with the wine? Especially in the CCR!
