1a) Heard about "air passes" Don't know if travel passes are the way for me to go... Anyone know of a good travel pass for this particular route? I am a US citizen living in the United States. It would be great if this travel pass includes flying into South America from North America and back. Alot of travel passes I see are for either Argentina and Brazil. My goal is to visit Rio De Janiero and a city from Argentina.
* 1b) If I were to consider traveling to a third city using a travel pass... though I heard most travel passes can work with just two stops/two countries... it might be Sao Paulo or I just might end up doing Rio and 2 Argentian cities... only if its worth the cost though. I'm trying to be flexible.
2) Can't decide which city is the best of Argentina: Buenos Aires, Mendoza, or Cordoba. I'm a young guy in his 20s looking to taste good Argentinean food and meet Argentinean women. Which city would you recommend the most in Argentina?
3) I've heard staying at an apartment is cheaper than a hotel.
5) Is traveling in late March/early April to Brazil and Argentina too cold? I'd like to go where it feels like Spring/not quite hot summer.
5) Being an open minded person, I welcome hearing suggestions from anyone. I'm sure I have a lot to learn and I sincerely appreciate any advice and words of wisedom. It doesn't just have to be about flights/hotels... I love learning about culture and other things from people. Anything that prepares me for flying to South America my ears and eyes are open.
Thanks
I won't answer all of your specific questions but I will give you some advice based on your the last line of your post.
- Weather wise you are fine, you are going at a fine time of year.
- Skip Sao Paulo
- Buenos Aires should be your choice of city in Argentina (logistically it will work out easy for you too). Mendoza would be my second choice but logistically it's much more work for you to get there. Perhaps a couple of days in Rosario would be to your liking, you could bus it there from Buenos Aires.
- How about flying from Miami to Rio and open jaw with a return from Buenos Aires? Then simply take a one way flight from Rio to Buenos Aires (with GOL or TAM are good options). Of course you could start in Buenos Aires, fly to Rio with GOL (from Buenos Aires or Rosario) and then Rio to Miami.
- Hotel is your best option
- I can't say enough great things about the Iguazu Falls (Foz do Iguacu on the Brazilian side). I've been there several times and it would be great if you could visit one of the great wonders of the world (the Falls).
