I generally like TG First Class, but LH and particularly LX are much better IMO.

What TG does well IMO:

1) hard product is ok on 346/747 and excellent on 77W (and will likely be on the 388)
2) ground experience at BKK incl. lounge/spa is superb!^
3) drink selection is top notch!^
4) amenity kit is of good quality, washrooms have decent toiletries etc.

What sets TG apart from a real premium carrier:

1) food (at least the Western options) are nothing special
2) food menu needs to change more often (I took three F flights last Jan. and the same three F segments this Jan. - a full year later - and >95% of the menu was identical)
3) service is very inconsistent
4) while many of the younger TG crew have a good command of the English language, the First class cabin is often staffed with the most senior crew members who often speak pretty poor English
5) regular equipment changes from 747 to 747 all series with pretty mediocre F hard product is unacceptable IMO

Overall I find most TG F flights to be very pleasant, but it isnīt anything I get excited about. That being said, Iīm grateful for the excellent award availability on most routes.
