I applaud the OP for taking the initiative here, bc as I've found out twice the odds of any sort of technology worth more than 50c will end up on eBay, not in Lost & Found.
Or maybe in your case someone like the OP found your lost article and did not turn it into CO so when you called CO they really did not have it. The OP did what he thought was a good deed but in all reality, the owner of the IPOD is going to call CO and they will have to explain to him that it was not turned in and prompting the owner to believe that Co is lying like you did.
OP bring the IPAD back to the airport and let CO do their job.
