Based on what metric? I cannot help the impression that you don't actively fly them and hence are immune against their quirkiness and snobbish attitude that you never experienced their total lack of skill and service during an irrop.
The other fleet is quite modern and should be in good shape.
If you ever were put on one of their 777-300 (not the ER type) in Biz you would not say that. Hence my conclusion.

And finally, this piece of advertisement makes me believe what other posters concluded here:
Singapore as a nation just like their airline and management teams are first rate up to the worlds best standards.
You don't live here, do you? But then how could you have picked up such unfiltered propaganda?
..and complaints seem to come from passengers who quite frankly don't know what they are doing and haven't read policies and terms and conditions in advance which are set out explicitly.
In this case, the praise is coming from a pax who doesn't fly them ... that is another order of magnitude more bizarre then what you conjecture.
And what T&Cs? That they don't owe you a clean plane and reliable service?

And finally:
In fact those A380's they are now using are pretty modern if not brand new on the JFK to SIN route via Frankfurt.
vs
F on A380 is like 5-6 years old already. I am more than sure management keeps tabs on their fleets and have seating refurbishment programs in place.

Even the lowly Southwest in the USA is installing all new seating on their planes. And this is Singapore F so it won't be long before a new superior offering is announced.
Which of the two is it now? Brand new or "already old"? It seems that in your view SQ can't get it wrong and you use the very same factoid to argue either way.
