There's a bar called the Tin Goose which overlooks the runway in T1 airside. Online reports suggest they do a reasonable pint of London Pride.

If you fire up that map link (above), the Tin Goose is no. 3, which is in the opposite corner to the LH transfer desks. If your connecting flight is going from Gate 5, you're heading that way anyway. If it's going from Gate 30 or so, then you'll be coming right back past the transfer desk.
