Wow . . . just wow. I am a "Pseudo-Elite" with an oversized ego because I asked if this was an anomaly or a characteristic? There are two questions in my post and no, I don't care about $50, I care about service!

Holy !?*!, some of you need to get some hobbies besides attacking OPs and complaining about the lack of privacy barriers at the airport urinals. Gee, isn't it fun? I can make snap judgments about your character off single posts too.

I was under the impression that I would get some feedback like, "I went through a similar situation switching from XXXX to XXXX and found I should have done XXXXXXXX." Or even, "I have been an Alaska Gold for XX years and have found that their service is getting better/worse/same over the past year" (Thanks to the person that posted this). I guess I am a little silly to expect that from A FREQUENT FLYER FORUM!

Sorry if my status on the other airlines and how many miles I fly offend you. I thought they may be pertinent to the discussion I was hoping would take place as the baggage waivers are variable on other carriers and I am trying to decide how to spend this year flying. I didn't even list the other carrier I fly on or the miles accumulated there.

I am aware that there is a difference between Alaska and others. I believe that was my original point and concern. I know they planned their marketing strategy to be completely different in an industry dominated by "me-toos." After all, they came up with frequent flyer programs, elite levels, and baggage fees to begin with.

I can only imagine what some knuckleheads would have posted if I had included my W-2 from last year like I was originally going to.
