I just got word that the NFL has decided to send New England Patriots to play the St Louis Rams in London on Oct 28, 2012.
I went a few years ago and had a great time. We want to book thurs - tuesday in London, but really have no clue what a good SPG property is for touristy locale, use of my Ambassador Platinum status, value using points,cash/ or both.
I see that there are lots of properties, I like a club (but are they open on weekends) are there hotels which treat Platinum realllly well?

None are great. Location wise the W is probably best for tourism, though it's a little too chic for me. The thumping "uncha-uncha" music piped through the halls is not my style, and the rooms are odd for my taste. They don't have a desk and the lighting is absurdly complicated...and I'm 40, not 100.
Le Meridien an Park Lane are old and feel to me like many of the Sheratons in the U.S. Fine for a conference, but wouldn't stay there with my wife.
The Lanesborough is supposed to be nice, but I've not wanted to pay the $1000/night or so to find out.
