I did go ahead and put DFW-DL-ATL-AF-CDG-AF-TNR // CAI-KL-AMS-KL-DFW on hold via delta.com (it worked, shocking!). I will call tomorrow and have them add the KQ segments...
Ticketed today:
DFW-DL-ATL-AF-CDG-AF-TNR (Y, ouch)
TNR-KQ-NBO-KQ-(KRT)-KQ-CAI (J)
CAI-KL-AMS-KL-DFW (J)
200,000 Miles (100,000 / person)
$489.80 ($244.90 / person)
Total Phone Time: 1 Hour
Total Calls: 2
Call 1 lasted around 20 minutes with a Chisholm agent (I asked after recognizing the accent). After around 15 minutes on hold, she came back and said that it would not price correctly because KQ flights are blacked out from June 1 - August 31
only when booked in conjunction with KL flights. She clearly stated that if my final 2 legs were not on KL, I could book the KQ flights. I thought that was quite odd so I thanked her and called again. Call 2 lasted around 40 minutes most of which was time spent on hold. After that time though the agent came back and said everything was taken care of (she did return periodically to give me updates as well). I did not find out where the agent was from. The ticket simply says "RES." Overall, I'm pleased with the value...
EDIT: When accessing the ticket receipt online, it says "RES," but the e-mailed receipt actually says "SLCRES." Thumbs up SLC!
