Yes, but did you work out the exchange rate...? It is my understanding that merchants in Uruguay will take pesos but you have to be willing to take at least a 35-40% hit on the market exchange rate. This is because they will have to pay a premium to purchase US$ with those Pesos, as they will only be able to trade them on the informal market.
