never expect too much from the e-service centre/ reversations/ MPC hotline guys... they're outsourced to PCCW, and in my opinion, they're a whole useless bunch.
Just a fortnight ago, I called MPC to issue my redemption booking for an award to be used within 48 hours of issuing and the agent put me on hold so that she'd calculate the tax + surcharge. She came back to me in 20 minutes and I asked her if something was wrong and she replied telling me she's having some trouble and I said fine, call me back ASAP. Here comes the most ridiculous reply: she said she'll calculate the sums and call me back in 2 days, by which time i'd be in the air... ...!
