I would suggest you look at using AwardNexus - I use this to find redemption bookings for myself and it works very well.

I think AwardNexus is far ahead of KVS, it allows you to search 14 days around any date and uses multiple booking engines to locate award flights. It's platform agnostic as it works via (any) web browser.

I agree the BA redemption explorer is dreadful.
