I think it would be very helpful if posters could choose between an "information" and "comment" icon/button for their post. Then, at a minimum, one could try and look at just the "information" posts when reading. Or, the web site could offer an option to collapse/scan a thread by hiding the "comment" posts, perhaps with a disclosure triangle.
