I will admit that I did contact the hotel before arrival to check on suite availability. Also, my concierge in building 2 David said that there were only 3 or 4 rooms occupied so I bet you could've pushed to get the suite.
Dang. I had also emailed them, but didn't receive a response. Our switching rooms was a bit of a weird situation as we were going on a tour that day in the morning at 7AM (terrible time on vaca) and we dropped our bags off at the front desk. It was quite an explanation to make this happen and not as easy as it is in the US. When we came back from the tour around 5PM our bags were in the Royal Beach room already and I was too tired to go back and ask for a different room and never really like to do it anyway.

Agreed, but, personally I wasn't super impressed with the room service. The food was okay and took us an hour and ten minutes to get it. We were ordering during dinner time so they were probably backed up. I thought the Tiramisu was the best item throughout the resort. I had it at the Italian, Mediterranean, and from room service. It was the best Tiramisu ever, but pretty solid.
