Indeed, as of today there is a desk out in the corridor. Only people who actually get the expedited screening are being directed into 4A. Otherwise you are directed to the next room down the hall (which does have AIT machines).
Did you happen to witness any situations where a one of two traveling companions got expedited and the other didn't? Did they send the companion to the "regular" line w/in 4a or down the hall?
