This just shows how being a FT messes with your mind ....

When I saw this thread, my first thought was, "Oh, no!" Why? Because I have a work-related (i.e., not on my dime) trip this spring to SFO and was thinking of taking two family members thanks to the $99 RT companion tickets from the Barclays MC. When the alternative would be a $580 ticket for each, I feel like I am saving money ... If and when fares drop to $350, I start thinking about uses for the companion tickets.

Like I said, it messes with your mind.
