Cebu Pacific- Death in family , no refunds

Just some information for the board; your experience may (hopefully) be more positive.

I was living in Thailand and booked a non refundable discounted flight from Bangkok to Clark (MNL) on August 2011. On September1 my sister informs me that my Mother is terminally ill, so I contact CP and advise them that I must cancel the flight and ask for a refund. I also visit Nancy Aviation, CP authorised ticket agent in Bangkok to cancel in person- but the agency is gone, no longer on Suriwong Road as listed on CP's web site.

My Mom passed on Sep 24 and I wrote the president of CP, death certificate attached, but never received a reply. The same with numerous emails. The only communication from CP was from them to my United Visa (Chase bank) to reverse the dispute I had filed with Chase. The call center agen had noted my calls, but of course they declined to make any accomodations.

Just a heads up. CP does have some good deals but their customer assistance simply does not exist. You may want to purchase their ever priced travel insurance or use a card witht that feature. My Chase card didn't have travel insurace (no the new United Plus) but Chase did step up to the plate and issue me a $100 courtesy credit.

FYI,
