Why not book it via multi-city roundtrip with layover?

I have a current EasyPass Reward PNR for BOS-LAX, 3 day layover, LAX-HNL, 7 day stay and return HNL-ORD-BOS. The last segment wasn't part of the multi-city, but was the availavble routing.

Or am I missing something? Obviously your options will be limited by your Reward type for the given days.
