Beginning with the safety aspect, years of experience in operating in, let's say, a "challenging environment" and doing an excellent job there and lastly the on occasion outstanding treatment of (status) passengers in exceptional situations have won over at least myself for life.

On the other hand it's not too bad that the competition keeps CX and KA on their toes somewhat...From a passenger and frequent flyer point of view.
