Huh??? What does your Visa card have to do with any of this???
If you mean a PC Visa, it earns what it earns (on hotel stays) independent of what point-earning rate you earn on the hotel side. It earns its normal rate at the card end once per statement, while your hotel points are earned on each hotel folio close.
Your Visa card has
always gotten per-dollar points on stays, even at ICs, even as ICs were only earning a flat 2000 points per stay on the hotel folio side.
Just as your Visa card has always gotten per-dollar points on stays, even when you collect miles (instead of points) on stays.
