Same. I've traveled for 11 days with just my roll-on bag. On anything longer, I'd probably cut down on the number of clothes and do laundry halfway through (due to the mental inertia of doing laundry).
Amongst nonclothing/toiletries, thinking about the bag sitting at the chair next to me right now as I write from the LH lounge at FRA: My laptop bag has both my main laptop and my netbook (order 7 hour battery life, great for most flights), my netbook's power adapter, and a set of power plug adapters. It also has a small folio with my itinerary in it and my boarding passes.
My roll-on bag has a larger folio for stashing papers I've accumulated this trip as well as two books (one of which got finished on my way out here).
If I'm visiting friends for a weekend on the west coast (yeah, I know, 6h JFK-SFO/LAX isn't really long haul), I'll have a thin blanket and smallish pillow stashed in my bag so I can crash on a couch.
