The company plans to add planes to its fleet. Virgin America has roughly 46 or more planes now and is constantly adding new routes and is actively building their fleet size. They aren't slowing down.
You mustn't confuse growth and profitability. An airline that is losing $10 million per airplane isn't fixing anything by doubling its fleet.
