The fastest routing from any NYC airport is EWR-SEA-ANC on Continental. I have done that before and it's not bad. There is one flight where you can stay on the plane in SEA (not a connection, but a stop). An alternate Star Alliance routing would be EWR/JFK-PHX-ANC on US Air but that will take longer.
