I suggest you contact the one that does cover immediately. I am not sure if they would be prepared to cover you since you did not get pre-approval but you may be able to get reimbursement. It's worth a try.
Yes I lodged my case in time. They said once the case is opened I have plenty of time to deal with the paperwork which I will get to when I return home. But with all the fine print in insurance policies I won't count my chickens too soon.
