I wouldn't be surprised if it was that Monty's wrap. When I received one on an an LHR-YOW run earlier this month, I chanced upon the expiry date : Dec 2012. Almost a year after it was made.
I don't know how anything with meat can survive that long without being saturated with chemicals and the corresponding toxins. Typical frozen food- without preservatives, in the UK, comes with an expiry date of 1 month.
Maybe that's what got you?
FWIW, as a survivor of delhi belly, I would avoid using baseline incubation periods and other timelines. I ve rarely if ever seen a case among visiting friends that hasn't kicked in within 6-12 hours ( usually closer to 6 than 12). Suffice to say, it can kick in anytime.
As an aside, I tend to raid EAT for a sandwich to carry me through the flight. Its easy enough to find in T3. There's an M&S simply food near arrivals top. Plenty of wraps and sandwiches that are tastier and healthier than meat that expires in a year. (Anybody else thinking of that National Post article with a one -year old mcd's cheeseburger that hasn't decayed?)
