In the last few years I've had good stays with Hilton, but recently my card is being Declined for no reason and randomly.
Xmas, Booked NYC-LAX-LA, Fine NYC on checkin (over 1K) but not on check out as I disputed a $144 change that was not mine. Used another Card. Worked LAX and Universal Hilton fine, even within the theme park for a locker.
Yesterday, I tried to check in locally (Melbourne) advised declined on pre-purchase, asked to re swipe it and it worked.
There is no issue with money in the accounts.
I've even spoken to my Bank before Xmas (on the way to the airport) that I was going to NYC, normally I don't and don't have issues.
But that time it happened at 2:30am in NYC leaving me with $2 cash to my name for the night (next morning everything went through fine) just was in the back of my mind with Xmas and everything shut.
Bank said they entered the wrong expire code and Hilton policy is to run the card once only
I use a number of cards, Hotels/Airlines etc I have on 1 debit card, I transfer money to it as needed, if it gets hacked they won't get much. I transfer as needed but it has a float large enough to cover what I'm doing. Transfers are instant.
Is there something wrong recently with Hilton?
