Looking at the seat maps for a cpl of random days, the services do seem to be the new cabin
I prefer AA's business to both UA and BA. I don't enjoy being made to feel like a sardine with 8 across seating. I can sleep just as well in a slanted bed as in a flat bed so this does play into my feelings. I also find the service on AA a bit better than that on UA and there is usually one more entree selection as well. IFE is similar.
If I was in the OP's situation I'd choose AA especially as he'll get the 100% miles bonus for being platinum.
