I'd choose BA - supper on the ground, sleep in the sky, earn AA miles, get perks with status. I'd also imagine irrops etc. would be better done with mid-level status than with no status. If that's not possible, you still get miles (and bonus miles if you fly by the end of March) and get to earn EQ points / miles toward status maintenance and benefit form your Sapphire status.
