No airline is obligated to start a route due to a SCASD grant. In the scheme of things, a $950k subsidy isn't huge. It'd burn a good bit of plane utilization that could be better used elsewhere.
I just don't see UA, DL or B6 jumping on this one, especially since it'd require a mainline plane and RASM tends to be lower on longer domestic routes. The only way it could work is the way Delta is doing BZN-ATL this Spring - a 1-2x/wk 737. Anything more would be overkill.
It's about an 1,800 mile flight. That's within range of the E75, isn't it?
