The GP agent was correct. If you want to use points to upgrade you have to pay the prevailing rate for a deluxe room. The type of room varies from property to property - some allow it on a partial ocean view and some allow it only from the full ocean view/front.

Generally speaking, it's not a very good deal to use points for the upgrade.
