I strongly disagree with the "crew pass" and non-screening of crew. There is currently no biometric authentication -- how many people look enough like a given pilot to enter with a simple flash of the ID?
Even with biometric authentication I disagree with non-screening of crew. They won't be bringing down THEIR plane. The point is that if you do not screen at all a large group of people, it is trivial for them to take something into the secure area to be handed off to somebody that will do the deed. The most realistic scenario is that somebody bribes a pilot to taking a small package through and hand it off to somebody airside.
