Yes. Lack of OW awards is a drawback of SKyMiles for many. I count charging the same price for OW as for RT as absence of OW awards.

I can't think of any situation when I absolutely had to have one way award. It's handy for doing open jaw itineraries, especially when you are returning to a different city than you originated from.
