DXB will only get you 3k miles. Need to fly beyond, which will be cheaper. Don't count on op ups if you fly frequently to Singapore. I don't know if the $$$ are worth the 15-20 min saved at check in. Unless you ferry a lot of baggage back and forth, or have very long layovers in DXB and can polish off a good few bottles of 2002, not much value.
