Question, how would you feel if you had a family member on Colgan 3407? Maybe then you would have a little be more respect for the fact that crews need rest.
and FWIW Delta' doesn't have a say so in the matter. The crew rest are part of the pilot CBA.
Pretty amazing that 50 lives have been lost over pilot rest, so much so the US government is having to add regulation, and people still say crap like this. If it mean getting my butt from point A to B with out point B being a flaming hole in the ground I'm MORE than happy for them to close a lav.
But think of the children! The children, I say!

On the LHR to MIA flight for example, the flight time averages 10 hours this time of year... In summation, the lav SHOULD only be unuseable for pax in this 10 hr flight example for a total of approx. 30 minutes.(10 minutes every 3 hours)...
Welcome to Flyertalk! Hang around awhile!
As for your comments, they make sense to me. However, I think the posters above are clearly referencing times when a lav was out of use for pax for the entire flight. Have you seen that? Why and how often?
