For the first time after countless trips, it was time to play "cheesy tourist day." So we took the cheesy tourist bus.

I'd call it a very good value - for AR$70 or $90 (24 or 48 hours), you can hop on and off wherever you like, with relatively frequent service. In fact, for the wholly-BUE uninitiated, it might make sense to take the 3+ hour tour through the city one day, and then take a few pieces of it another day to stop where you want to return. You can pick up the bus anywhere en-route (there are very clear stops) and pay when you board (but only cash accepted except at the start point). Most but not all have language headphones. A few are Spanish only.
The main areas covered are Congreso, San Telmo, La Boca, Pto. Madero, Palermo, and even a stop in the hamlet of Las Caņitas (in the unlikely event you'll ever care to go there, or even less likely, know someone there

). 20 or so stops in all.
