Do you need an answer after what you've just posted? That's the reason they decided to kill the card. "Churnable". You and your wife have been milking the system at both ends and someone has to pay. CC companies should not permit this reprehensible practice of churning but they are competitive fools opening themselves to abuse. And at the AE end, you've been milking miles, seldom if ever flying AC, and then cashing in those churned miles for awards. And you wonder why it's come to an end.
Those of us north of the border are amazed at what you guys can get away with and how the industry basically sets itself up for abuse! For those of us up here this will be a welcome move as we will no longer have to compete for awards against those who've accumulated their AE miles through such practices. Good move BofA! As AE has become a rewards program instead of a frequent flier one, I wouldn't say AE is being milked, they're selling miles to their vendor, it's more BoA's practice that allows their cards to be churned that's the issue
it also brings in money for AC if a YQ eligible flight is booked
