Those of us north of the border are amazed at what you guys can get away with and how the industry basically sets itself up for abuse! For those of us up here this will be a welcome move as we will no longer have to compete for awards against those who've accumulated their AE miles through such practices. Good move BofA! Good riddance j3Brooklyn!
As AE has become a rewards program instead of a frequent flier one, I wouldn't say AE is being milked, they're selling miles to their vendor, it's more BoA's practice that allows their cards to be churned that's the issue

it also brings in money for AC if a YQ eligible flight is booked
