Well this doesn't particularly work out in my favour. This has been my primary CC since I moved down to the US in '05, and Aeroplan has been my FF program. As I no longer have a mileage earning CC with Aeroplan down here, I'll have to look into alternatives (god I hate doing more research after I've gotten comfortable being lazy with my current card). I had decided to stick with Aeroplan as it works pretty well for me and my travel pattern, but I must admit that my 100K+ status miles are augmented by my business expenses, so my CC miles are a nice supplement to my BIS miles.

If anyone in the US has a reasonable alternative that they use to earn Aeroplan miles in the US (or a CC that is linked up with points to transfer over to Aeroplan easily), I welcome your thoughts via PM (as to not dilute this thread). My first flights of 2012 start on Friday, and my plan was to stick with Aeroplan - but without the supplemental miles from my CC, I lose a bit of earning power. So maybe it is time for me to venture over to the dark side (Mileage Plus)..........

And before Shareholder bids me good riddance as well, just note that there are people like myself who are Aeroplan status members that fly regularly with Air Canada, who are not poaching the system but rather are doing what everyone else in Canada does with the Aeroplan CIBC VISA. So some of us can be disappointed with this decision.
