I know in the past if the flight yesterday was on a 767, it would show up today as a 767 even if it was a 757. Yesterdays flight was a 757.

So, how does flightaware come up with the aircraft on the routes?
Flightaware just reports the flight data, it doesn't forecast it.

Here's a good tool to use when you're trying to see different aircraft swap outs, etc: http://data.flight24.com/flights/aa31/

Looks like you can be about 95% sure you'll be on a 757.
