Yes, I think that I am going to tough it out with my family in economy. At least we'll be going on a holiday
Next time that we fly for leisure I'll definitely do some more research into a mixed class fare with Y to Asia and then J to Europe. This seemed very reasonably priced compared to J the whole way on Qantas. Swiss's J class looked fantastic. May try that out next time.
Note: The emergency exit seats are already all sold out!
Unfortunately that means no extra leg room for us. We toughed it out last year on Qantas both ways with routing FRA-SIN-MEL QF6 B747-400 QF10 A380. We coped ok. The departure time of midnight is a shocker though. The only great thing about this departure was that by the time drinks and meal service had passed through I managed to get 6 hours of sleep
