I like this trip report ^^ Thank you

It reminds me of the period when I was doing the TG BKK-KTM flight once or twice a year. KTM is certainly an "alternative" sort of airport. As you describe, you can easily devote two hours to a seemingly endless series of queueing activities. But the place is just so different that it somehow doesn't seem to matter. And as you suggest, some of the security checks there do seem to be a bit of a joke. I recall a regular last chance frisking of passengers at the foot of the steps to the plane. All very well but backpacks, etc, were completely ignored in this process.

On the flight into KTM I soon concluded that when travelling in Y, the best place to sit was at the extreme rear of the plane. This was because they would bring up steps to both the front and rear doors simultaneously on arrival, and a quick mover could be out of the rear door and on foot into the terminal while the J passengers were still being loaded into the pointless bus that you describe. And getting into the terminal first was invaluable when the visa on arrival process had to be negotiated.
