I'm open to including receipts for award travel (where base fare is, I expect, $0) as well as for paid travel. Only criteria is that fuel surcharge must be lumped in the line labeled "tax". For anyone who has such a receipt, I'll work with you to confirm that the receipt is in fact eligible -- probably a brief email to airline customer service.

I'm surprised that some airlines didn't have their legal departments determine the legality of a receipt. If this is the case, a law firm would probably take on a class action lawsuit.. legal fees is the motive for these type of lawfirms.. if they win, is a huge boon for the lawyers..
