Need advice on DL flight cancellation, moved to AF
Today Mr. Marylou & I got emails with a reissued ticket, not just an itinerary change notice. I am on a paid ticket, he is on an award, MSY-ATL-CDG.
The flight in question was the return CDG-ATL leg in April, flight 37 at 9:20 AM. That flight has been removed from the schedule and the only DL metal to ATL is the 1:30 flight.
They put us on the AF flight leaving at 10:45. It still leaves us 2 hours to connect in ATL but I don't want the AF metal. The website would not allow me to choose a seat for either of us.
I don't trust AF to make our seats "stick" as it were, since we are on 2 PNRs, him an award ticket at that. We got shuffled on that AF flight last October at the last minute and everyone's seats were switched.
So 2 questions. 1, Why are they dropping this route down to 1 flight?
2, I know I'll need to call to sort this out, but should I stick with the AF flight and try to get seats assigned, try to move to the 1:30 DL or reroute through another hub?
Another thing, when I first tried to select my seat on the AF flight, it showed me seats in "affaires" class as available to me. (Chose one but got an error message). So how does "affaires" compare to BE?
