SAA still does not participate in the *A Upgrade scheme. You're not going to get an upgrade using MileagePlus points on SA metal.

That said, the *A page indicates that SA is intending to join the program. Should that come to pass then you're just up against the issue of needing business class award availability, which is no trivial task, but also not completely impossible assuming there is some flexibility.
