Let's take this one step at a time
OP - Your post is extremely unclear. If what you meant to say is that you booked MCO-XXX-CDG-MCO and that cost $60 more than changing at XXX on the return and indeed the new routing will delay you by 90 mins or more, you are entitled to a refund of the fare to your original form of payment and can then buy a new ticket which, if the faring still holds from the time of purchase, will cost you $60 less.
To do this, call DL. You need to make certain that your old $60 savings routing is still the case today. If it isn't, you could wind up paying thousands more for a ticket than what you paid when you booked.
If the new ticket won't get you the $60 savings, stick with the reroute as proposed by DL. Do not mention the $60 because the CSR with whom you are speaking doesn't handle this issue and your itinerary will get gummed up for certain.
When you return from France, but not until then, send a clear & concise email to DL explaining that the route you originally chose cost $60 more than the route you flew at DL's request and that you expect a $60 refund. You won't get it, but you might get some miles or some credit worth something like that.
Alternatively, you could determine that you will spend more than $60 in your time recovering the $60 which you won't get and forget it and enjoy France instead.
