By ex-BKK I guess you mean buy the RTW from an agent in BKK and buy a one-way ticket from LAX to BKK. Isn't that pretty expensive on it's own? Or am I missing something?

And how does this get me Plat on AA for the next couple of years? Is there some special deal for that?

Is there some thread or more info on the RTW you are talking about?
