Original flight cancelled, switched to a new one without knowing

I'm hoping someone can help me! I booked a multi-city flight overseas (first time going to Europe, and I'll be by myself) and paid extra for a nonstop from CDG-MCO on the way back. Apparently, this flight was pulled from the schedule, and I was switched to a new one without being notified. I wouldn't have discovered this change, had I not checked my account to switch a seat. The airfare is a difference of $60, and while I realize this is not much to some, it's still 60 bucks! So, I thought to compensate for the whole situation, I'd ask for an upgrade on the way to LHR for economy comfort since it wasn't that much more in price. The agent on the Delta Assist twitter said they couldn't do that and that they wouldn't refund my money, but they'll give me a voucher. So, then I asked if I would be able to use the voucher towards the economy comfort upgrade, and they said no, you need a debit/credit card. I asked for a direct email for a manager, and they sent me to the generic customer service form. I'm still pretty mad about the whole thing, considering they weren't planning on tell me until a few days before. Ideas?
