If you want to see a very fun and free sporting event - head to Manhattan Beach for the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) pro beach tournament - annual event that is one of the classics of the tour, and is Aug 10/11.

I'll almost certainly go - but I never decide when until about a half hour before I leave.
